Gilman's Biodegradable foam board looks, cuts and can be used identically as with regular foam board. The only difference is that the foam center is made with "bio resins" which decompose in landfills along with the paper covers.

In addition, Gilman uses papers for the surface of their foam board which are manufactured with wood products from SFI (Sustainable Forest Initiative) certified forests. The forest certification process involves an evaluation of land management and forestry practices by a third party according to certification standards which address welfare and environmental protection.
