Bio resins cause discarded foam board to degrade in landfills once the foam is exposed to moist bacteria rich environments. Only an environmentally harmless biomass compost remains after one to five years for 100% breakdown whereas conventional foam boards decompose in 450 years.Gilman's Biodegradable Foamboard also uses surface papers which are made from wood products sourced from SFI(sustainable Forest Initiation certified forests. Biodegradable foam boards look, perform and last the same as all of our regular foam boards.
