Pouch Board one step process
Graphics mounted onto a substrate such as foam board, Gator board, etc. are formally known as rigid displays. Laminated rigid displays typically consist of a four elements: the rigid substrate (board), an adhesive, the print, and an over-laminating film.
Prints are over-laminated with films to both enhance the print as well as protect it from scuffing and moisture. This used to take multiple steps, but with heat activated adhesives this can be accomplished in one step with pouch boards and heat activated boards where lamination is not required.
Pouch boards are adhesive coated boards with a sheet of film laminate attached at one end. Pouch Boards are available on all common boards including Foam, Mountcor, Gator and Corrugated plastic. Finishes include gloss, textured matte and smooth matte films.
To us a pouch board, you need a laminator with a heated top roller that can reach 285 degrees and a speed of one foot per minute. To use, you insert your print between the laminate film and the board, smooth the film and insert the board into the laminator. Your print exits the laminator both mounted and laminated and ready to trim and display.
We can custom size and provide special films such as write-on wipe off films for specific needs.
